every building into power –houses;
Replacing 500, 000 irrigation pumps
with Solar Pumps ;
Powering Education , Health & Telecommunication
in the rural areas;
Going for low cost Solar Solutions
such as street lighting , bill boards , solar lanterns
etc;
Running small machines such as power
looms , rice haulers etc
Coping with natural disasters such
as through solar water desalination, emergency lighting
, signaling etc ;
Creating 100,000 Greeen Jobs .
We are in the front line of facing the threats of Climate
Change. Our people are increasingly battered by cyclones
and tornadoes. We are facing salinity, deforestation,
drought and irregular weather. Renewable Energy Technology
can secure for us a bright future , give us economic
development without endangering the environment , protect
us from the calamity of Climate Change .
Bangladesh is at the threshold of a Solar Revolution
. We have installed over 400000 Solar Home Systems ,
benefiting over 4 million rural people, with over 20,000
Solar Home systems installed per month and this will
double, triple within the next 2/3 years. We have gained
the capacity of assembling all components of Solar Home
Systems in Bangladesh , except for the solar panels.
More importantly we have taken the assembling , repairing
of solar accessories to the rural areas , creating Green
Jobs for rural women.
